When: Sunday 14th April 2019 1.30pm - 4.30pm
Where: Join us from 1:30pm when we will be beach cleaning and sifting through the sand.
Join us at 2:30pm when we will be heading out as a group on kayaks and paddleboards to clean and sift through the sea, as well as the more difficult to reach beaches along the coast.
Join us for either one or both of the cleans.
We'll provide gloves and binbags, just bring yourself.
Use of the equipment is free for volunteers and will be on a first come first served basis. One of our highly qualified instructors will be out leading the clean on the water, along with a safety boat. You're welcome to join us with your own kit if you have your own paddleboard or kayak.
Once you're all finished come and receive a big thank you and a cup of tea on us.
Anyone over 12 can join us on the paddleboards or kayaks, children from 6 years old will need to be accompanied by an adult on our double kayaks.
The Surfers Against Sewage Big Spring Beach Clean Summit to Sea is taking place on beaches throughout the country between April 6 - 14th and is the largest and most effective beach clean project in the UK. With over 70% of plastic pollution coming from the land, and over 5,000 items of litter on every mile of coast, taking part in a beach clean and paddle helps to tackle the vast issue of plastic pollution.
