Events range from the classical distance sea swims to aquathalons to SUP events. All Levels Welcome.

SWIM/SUP/RUN Triathlon - Saturday 4th May 2019
The ultimate alternative triathlon for all skill levels, the Swim/SUP/Run at Polkerris beach. The traditional bike leg is replaced with a Stand Up Paddle board! So whether you're a novice or experienced triathlete, this proves to be a different challenge. The triathlon kicks off with a 750m sea swim, followed by a 1.5km paddle and then a final leg, an out and back run along the South West Coastal Path towards and across Par beach looping back and returning to finish on Polkerris beach. The event is open to both individual and relay entries so if you don't fancy doing all three disciplines, grab a mate or two and do one each! A limited number of SUPs are available to hire. The entry fee includes an event t-shirt and a silicone swim hat. There will be a number of prizes available to competitors including 1st/2nd/3rd male and female as well as spot prizes, each entry will also receive an event t-shirt. In addition to the triathlon events there will be a 5km paddle board event on the same day.
5km SUP Event - Saturday 4th May 2019
On the same day as the Swim-SUP-Run alternative Triathlon we are holding a single 5km paddle board race starting before the triathlon so people can do one, two or all three events! The SUP will see participants start on Polkerris beach and paddle out toward Gibbin Head and back to finish at the beach. The SUP is ideal for those who are new to SUP racing as well as more experienced paddlers. A limited number of SUPs are available to hire and will be distributed at registration on a first come first served basis,you are not guaranteed to be able to select a board size. You can wear what you want on the paddle boards (Wetsuit, swimmers or fancy dress if you want) as long as you have a leash. There will be a number of prizes available to competitors including 1st/2nd/3rd male and female as well as spot prizes, each entry will also receive an event t-shirt.
Coastal Aquathlon - Saturday 15th June 2019
The Aquathlon is returning this year along with a junior's race. Whether you're a novice or experienced triathlete, challenge yourself and be part of this stunning but tough event. Starting on Polkerris beach, the event involves a 1.5km open water sea swim followed by a tough but rewarding 6km run along the scenic South West Coastal Path to Gribbin Tower and back. The event is open to individual as well as relay team entries. The juniors race will include a sea swim and run with distances recommed on age: 8-10yrs: 100m swim /500m run, 11-12yrs: 200m swim/1k run and 13-15yrs: 300m swim/1.5k run. Entry includes an event memento and a silicone swim hat. Prizes will be awarded for 1st/2nd/3rd boys and girls along with spot prizes.
Junior Coastal Aquathlon - Saturday 15th June 2019
New for 2019 alongside our well established coastal aquathlon is a junior's coastal aquathlon race. This event involves a sea swim within the harbour around a 100m triangular course, consisting of either 1, 2 or 3 laps with very short Australian exits near the water's edge. This will be followed by a beach transition and 500m, 1km or 1.5km run on the beach and local South West Coastal Path. The event will be seperated into three recommended categories based on age:
8-10yrs: 100m swim /500m run
11-12yrs: 200m swim/1k run
13-15yrs: 300m swim/1.5k run.
Entry includes an event memento and a silicone swim hat. Prizes will be awarded for 1st/2nd/3rd male and female along with spot prizes.
Sea Swim Festival - Saturday 24th August 2019
The Swim Festival is a mass-participation open water sea swimming event and an ideal chance to challenge yourself in a particular swim distance. The event offers a choice of a 1km, 2km, or 3km distances consisting of 1km laps and a very short Australian exit near the water's edge. Each swim will have a separate start times; first the 3km, then the 2km and then the 1km allowing some to do all 3 distances. Each competitor will receive a silicone swim hat and a special commemorative medal. Those entering all 3 swims will receive a £20 discount on the total entry fee. Male and female prizes for overall 1st, 2nd, 3rd and age category winners for all swim distances.
5km Harbour to Harbour Sea Swim - Saturday 21 September 2019
A point to point swim starting at the harbour of Charlestown and finishing at the harbour of Polkerris. The swim route will take you across St Austell Bay from West to East past Carlyon Bay, Spit and Par beaches before finishing at Polkerris. As always a massive high-five from the Mad Hatter crew will await every competitor at the finish from 1st to last. What's not to like? Each competitor will receive a coloured swim hat and a special commemorative medal. Male and Female prizes for overall 1st, 2nd, 3rd and age category winners. Registration will take place at Polkerris and we can transport you to the start in Charlestown unless you have your own transport with family/friends. There is a £2 charge for the coach trip to Charlestown
