Coastal, Woodland & Hedgerow Foraging

Join us at the beach this spring for an educational foraging session, with Matt Vernon at Cornish Wild Food.

Find out more below. Spaces are limited so book  your place now!

On a Cornish Wild Food foraging walk we aim to get you confident harvesting and cooking with at least a dozen different tasty wild edibles. You will also learn the principles of sustainable foraging, safe harvesting, useful tools and the laws on gathering wild food. All foraging walks end by cooking up what we have found for everyone to taste, and giving a chance to chat about cooking ideas and recipes.

Polkerris Beach combines an idyllic sandy Cornish cove set within a recognised area of outstanding natural beauty. It is a sheltered harbour beach in the small village of Polkerris, overlooking St Austell Bay, with a stone quay providing shelter. Nestled within stunning coastline of low cliffs and small sandy beaches and near the dramatic Gribben Head, the beautiful Menabilly valley and stunning Fowey estuary.

Wear sturdy footwear and dress for the weather. Feel free to bring a basket or bag for collecting, notepad, camera, and don't forget a bottle of water.

When: Sunday 26th April
Time: 12:00pm
