Swim, SUP & Run Alternative Triathlon - Sunday, May 10th 2020
The ultimate alternative triathlon for all skill levels – the Swim-SUP-Run at Polkerris beach. The traditional bike leg is replaced with a Stand Up Paddle board! No fancy carbon bikes, just you, a SUP board and your core strength. So whether you're a novice or experienced triathlete, this proves to be a different kind of challenge.
The tri starts with a 750m sea swim. Once completed and after a quick transition on the beach you'll pick up your SUP and jump aboard for a 1.5km paddle before returning to the beach and into transition. Here you'll leave your SUP and get your trainers on for the final leg, an out and back run along the South West Coastal Path towards Gribbin head before looping back and returning to finish on Polkerris beach.
The event is open to both individual and relay entries so if you don't fancy doing all three disciplines, grab a mate or two and do one each!
5km SUP Race - Sunday, May 10th 2020
A single 5km paddle board race starting on the same day as the Swim-SUP-Run alternative Triathlon so you can try your hand at both. Boards will be distributed at registration on a first come first served basis and you are not guaranteed to be able to select a board size. You can wear what you want on the paddle boards (wetsuit, swimmers or fancy dress if you want) as long as you have a leash. There will be a number of prizes available to competitors including 1st/2nd/3rd male and female as well as spot prizes, each entry will also receive an event t-shirt.

Polkerris Swim Festival Saturday, August 29th
The Swim Festival is a mass-participation open water sea swimming event and a great chance to challenge yourself in a particular swim distance. If you're feeling fit and strong you could swim two or even all three distances! This event also includes a juniors swim event for children from 8-14 years of ages with a distance of approximately 500m.
The adult event offers a choice of a 1km, 2km, or 3km distance. The course will consist of 1km laps and will include a very short Australian exit near the water's edge ideal for spectators.
Each swim will have a separate start time. The festival will begin with the 3km swim followed by the 2km and then the 1km. This order will help those who are doing all 3 distances, clocking up a total of 6km. That would deserve some well earned kudos!
Each competitor will receive a swim hat and a special commemorative medal. If you enter all 3 swims you will receive a £15 discount on the total entry fee. Male and female prizes for overall 1st, 2nd, 3rd and age category winners for all swim distances. The entry fee includes a medal and a silicone swim hat.
